REOMED ISOMONITOR

Common protective measures against insulation faults, such as residual current devices in domestic installations, cannot detect potential insulation faults on the output side when isolation transformers are used. The ISOMONITOR monitors the dielectric resistance of both live contacts of the isolation transformer’s output sockets relative to ground potential and generates a warning signal in case of a fault. The insulation resistance is monitored for falling below a limit value of 50 kΩ (25 kΩ). If this value is undershot, both an acoustic (pulsating tone approx. 3kHz, approx. 98 dB) and an optical signal (LED display) are generated. The ISOMONITOR can be connected directly to one of the isolation transformer’s output sockets and does not require an additional power supply. Further optional functions include monitoring the transformer’s temperature with acoustic and optical alarms, as well as an optical display of the transformer’s power consumption. In case of a fault, the acoustic alarm can be reset via an acknowledgment button; the optical alarm is automatically reset once the fault is cleared.
