Solingen, February 17, 2021 – REO AG, headquartered in Solingen, is further expanding its range of components for electric motors and peripheral components. The company is thus consistently continuing its path in the electrification of new and existing mobility concepts, remaining true to its almost 100-year tradition.
Since 1925, REO has been developing and producing electrical components and has acquired extensive technical knowledge over the decades. Today, the company offers special braking resistors, chokes, current filters, and current transformers for electric drives in vehicles, marine, and aircraft applications, with great scalability of power classes.
REO places great emphasis on the specific application areas of its products and sets market-shaping impulses with innovative production processes, efficient workflows, and continuous development. As a result, REO AG has already been able to apply its expertise in a large number of international research and development projects and contribute significantly to the success of new products.
REO is firmly convinced of the future of the electric motor: “Electric drives have a very good efficiency compared to conventional drive types such as the internal combustion engine”, states Sven Reimann, Board Member and Head of Development, adding: “at the same time, electric drives have advantages such as energy recovery during braking, low noise development, a simple design, and they cause no local emissions. With REO components, we can do our part to make electric drives better and more effective. Therefore, we are convinced that the electric drive has a firm place in the future of mobility.”
In addition, there is a longer service life, virtually maintenance-free, safe operation, and lower costs – provided the components are of high quality. To ensure and maintain this consistent quality and thus be able to pursue new developments, extensive quality checks and the application of highly developed analysis methods are at the forefront of product development and improvement. Compliance with valid standards, confirmed by certificates from accredited laboratories, reinforces the quality technical claim.
Due to the new “electrification” strategy, REO AG has bundled its strengths in the production of inductive, resistive, and electronic components. Enormous vertical integration in holistic production at the German REO plants and independence from globally located suppliers ensure production and deliveries.
With the newly created campaign website www.emobility-reo.de specifically on the topic of e-mobility, the company offers interested parties from various industries and manufacturers in the field of electromobility a new information platform.
